Women’s Alliance for Knowledge Exchange (WAKE) Visits Harpswell

May 17, 2016: WAKE, the Women’s Alliance for Knowledge Exchange, arrived at Harpswell on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, with twelve advisors from the US, Ukraine, and India, ready to deliver trainings on LinkedIn, personal branding, and to discuss women’s leadership.

Students learned about professional networking from a communications consultant, and worked directly with advisors to set up their own LinkedIn profiles for the first time. During an informal reception serviced by social enterprise Hagar Catering, students and advisors mingled, trading stories about Cambodia and life in other countries.

The day ended with a break-out session for STEM students with WAKE advisors from Google and Oracle, and a brainstorming session with the founder of Scientific Animations Without Borders to promote women and girls’ education in Cambodia through video animation.
