Harpswell Student Participates in Chevening Internship Program

June 3, 2019: En Malen, Harpswell '21, recently completed her internship with the British Embassy's Chevening Internship Program. The program, funded by the British Embassy in Cambodia, provides internship opportunities for young Cambodians with leadership potential.From February to May, Malen interned with the British Council’s Department of Legal, Consular and Boundary Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, managing internal and external documents. Through the internship program, she also attended free English classes with the British Council.

Reflecting on her internship, Malen says that she improved her soft skills, learned the importance of being detail-oriented, and gained an understanding of the process of negotiation between states in diplomatic communications. Malen is grateful for the internship, which she says was “full of learning, engagement, reflection and self- development.”
