Harpswell Welcomes Class of 2022

October 18, 2018: Students and staff welcomed the Class of 2022 and their families to Harpswell. These 19 exceptional women from 13 provinces were selected from a pool of over 220 applicants from across Cambodia. The group includes future lawyers, architects, engineers, doctors, pharmacists, a veterinarian, a food chemical engineer, mathematician, accountant, international business women and several future diplomats.The young women and their families gathered in the Great Hall of Women for the welcoming ceremony, which opened with a traditional Khmer wishing dance performance. Students and parents heard from Harpswell’s Executive Director, Alison Pavia, Country Director, Samneang Moul, Dorm Managers Din Vutha and Suon Raksmey (Harpswell ‘10) and former Harpswell Alumnae Association president Srun Kea Vatey (Harpswell ’14).

The ceremony concluded with the signing of student and parent contracts, which officially marks the beginning of their new chapter as Harpswell students. Afterwards, students and families enjoyed a lunch prepared by the current students.We are delighted to welcome these talented young women to the dorms and look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish during their time at Harpswell.
